Dogs are allowed in the bar as it has a stone floor but it is not large so they should be kept on a lead (particularly as the door leading into the kitchen is often open). There is a separate restaurant area to the left of the entrance and dogs are not allowed in there.

The Royal Oak was closed for a period, but reopened in 2020 with the support of local residents.

There is a car park to the side of the pub with a small beer garden down a couple of steps at the far end.
