The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

The Kentish Rifleman is a 16th Century inn individually owned and run (not a pubco).  It is a small pub (but not too small) in a quiet location.  Food and snacks are served and it has tables at the front and a beer garden.  Dogs allowed in the bar area. The toilets are immaculate.  They serve a good range of beers - Harveys plus 3 local brews (often including Westerham ales).

Note: The Kentish Rifleman was gutted by a fire in March 2007 and only reopened in February 2008.  It took a long time because it is a listed building and everything had to be just right.  The outside is exactly as it was (you would be hard pressed to tell there had ever been a fire) but the inside is completely new.
