The front of the establishment is a restaurant, so dogs are not allowed.  The "Ramblers' Rest" bar at the back has a wooden floor so dogs are welcome there.  The landlord keeps a tankard of dog biscuits on the bar.  There is a large garden at the rear with service from the rear window of the pub.  Toilets are available in the restaurant area.  There are also buckets of water outside so walkers can clean their boots before entering.  Beware, the lintel of the back door is a little low so, for tall people, it may be a choice of "duck or grouse".

The pub is owned by the same company that owns The Woodman, at Ide Hill.  The Ramblers Rest bar has been altered so that there is more room for customers.  The tankard of dog biscuits is still there.

Smokers: As well as the existing covered area at the far end of the pub's garden, there is now a gazebo just outside the door of the Ramblers Rest bar for smokers.
